About Us

Lathea V. Morris is a Principal of MorlinoandLathea.com. She has almost two decades of experience as an entrepreneur who was a founder of The Credit Alternative Group. Her concentration has mainly been on the financial matters of small business owners. She developed the company's small business training programs and created the Businessowners Credit Toolkit 3.0. In many circles she is known as the Credit Guru. Her small business & credit management experience has led to opportunities for her to write personal finance and credit articles for a major NJ newspaper as well as for Demand Studios, one of the web's biggest and fastest growing online media companies.
Lathea draws upon her background as a Vice President of a major insurance company, Assistant Secretary of State of NJ, mortgage consultant, certified housing counselor, her studies in sociology & business and extensive research into the consumer credit and debt management business.
She provided advice on a Debtors Education program for the National Bankruptcy Review Commission. She has presented to the Paritätische Akademie, a strategic financial management training organization in Berlin, Germany.
She received a B.A. degree from Sangamon State University (University of Illinois) in Springfield, IL. She majored in Sociology - Minor/Business Management. Also, she completed the advanced engineering course "Beyond Reengineering" for business at The George Washington University, earned the designation of "ACE," a certification with the Society of Certified Credit Executives of Creditors International and  from the Capstone Institute of Mortgage Finance received a certificate of completion for "Principles of Mortgage Finance."
Lathea has been featured in several print media outlets and is a past contributor to the Herald News "Her Money" column where she discussed credit, debt & mortgage solutions.
Lathea is a recipient of the NJAWBO Thirty Award (NJ Association of Women Business Owners). She was recognized as part of an elite group of successful NJAWBO business owners. Also, she is a recipient of the Walsh Achievement Award for excellence in business in the Essex County Community. She has also been recognized by Rutgers, Newark SBDC for her contribution to small businesses.

Morlino F. Morris is a Principal of MorlinoandLathea.com and is the architect of the company's successful personal finance self improvement seminars. His concentration has mainly been with financial matters of the consumer market.
He draws upon his extensive background and experience as a former owner and founder of The Credit Alternative Group, a business and consumer financial services and products company, in the pharmaceutical industry, credit consulting and business studies at the Keller Graduate School of Management.
Morlino received a B.S. degree in pharmaceutical science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1973 and attended Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago, Ill in 1979. Morlino earned the certification of "C.C.C.C." in 1991 from the American Institute of Consumer Credit and received a certificate in recognition of completion of the Foundation in Financial Planning course from the College For Financial Planning in Denver, CO. in 1990.
Morlino has been featured in several print media outlets including The Star Ledger, in the "Extraordinary People" section. He was featured in a commercial for National Credit Education Week. He is a recipient of the "100 Most Influential" Award for economic development in NJ.  He is a frequent guest on WBAI radio talk show You and Your Money hosted by Susan Lee.
He earned the highest designation of Toastmasters International for participation and achievement in advanced communication and leadership.
Morlino is the author of  "A Prescription For Financial Health."
